But Melania Trump managed to succeed when she personally negotiated a ceasefire for the city of Oleshky, which has been devastated by the war.
“The situation in Oleshky is dire. Oleshky is a front-line war city on the brink of disaster. Oleshky’s remaining population is comprised primarily of elderly residents who urgently need medical attention, medicine, food, and clean water,” Melania declared.
“The people of Oleshky have limited electricity, live amid mined roads, and endure regular military attacks. It was abundantly clear that without my intervention, the possibility to bring humanitarian aid into the city and to evacuate the elderly would be impossible,” Melania added.
“Non-military, civilian leaders from both countries will work together to visit Oleshky residents in their homes and determine the level of assistance they require,” Melania went on to say.
“Residents who wish to evacuate will receive coordinated support and transportation to their preferred destination. I anticipate some will want to go to Russia, and some to Ukraine,” the First Lady’s statement continued on.
Melania stepped in to broker this ceasefire to give an opportunity to reunite lost children with their parents.
“My representative and I immediately leveraged the communication channel we established with Russia and Ukraine through the previous six reunifications of 34 children,” Melania continued.
Both nations promptly assigned teams to coordinate the complex mechanics involved, including demining. All parties have worked around the clock since that moment,” Melania explained.
Normally, First Ladies pick an issue that is undercovered in the media and make it theirs to champion to raise awareness.
Senior advisor Marc Beckman told Fox News that Melania Trump was changing that paradigm to turn the Office of the First Lady into an action-oriented position.
“We have to look, as Americans, at our first lady with immense pride. She is completely revamping the role of first lady from somebody building policy awareness into action-oriented. She’s saving lives,” Beckman stated.
“Yesterday, she brokered — single-handedly brokered — a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine within the area of Oleshky,” Beckman told Fox News before going on to say that Russia agreed to extend the ceasefire to the entire Ukraine’s Kherson region.
Melania Trump has always been focused on children.
Her first initiative was the “Be Better” campaign, which sought to promote more civil online discourse.
Now she is working to reunite lost children with their parents in Ukraine.
