Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar may have reason to panic.

An old accusation reared its ugly head.

And JD Vance triggered one nuclear option that is checkmate for Ilhan Omar.

As Swamp Digest reports:

Vice President J.D. Vance filled in for White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during the press briefing while Leavitt is out on maternity leave.

The Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese asked Vance about his previous comments alleging that Omar committed immigration fraud by engaging in a sham marriage with her brother to win him U.S. citizenship.

“You previously mentioned that Ilhan Omar seemed to have committed immigration fraud,” Reese asked. “Do you anticipate an indictment against her, an indictment related to that situation?”

Vance confirmed Omar’s alleged immigration fraud was under investigation

“Yes, so, Reagan, I don’t want to prejudge an investigation,” Vance began.

Ever since Omar first ran for Congress in 2018, allegations have followed her campaign that she married her brother, Ahmed Elmi, in 2009, despite having already allegedly married Ahmed Hirsi in a Muslim faith ceremony in 2002

Omar Elmi soon separated and officially divorced in 2017, and then Omar married Hirsi in 2018 before divorcing him in 2018.

Vance told Reese that it appeared to him that “something fishy” was going on with Omar’s marriages.

“I mean, you read the things about Ilhan Omar and about who she married and whether she didn’t marry this person or that person. It certainly seems like something fishy is there, but everybody’s entitled to equal justice under the law. So, we’re going to investigate it. We’re going to take a look at it. If we think it is a crime, we’re going to prosecute that crime. That’s something that the Department of Justice is looking at right now.”

President Trump has repeatedly called for Omar’s denaturalization and deportation.

“She should go back!” Trump wrote on Truth Social in response to a video of Omar calling the President “our President.

Trump even joked that he asked the President of Somalia to take Omar back.

“You know I met the head of Somalia, did you know that?”Trump said to reporters during an Oval Office meeting last  September. “And I suggested that maybe he’d like to take her back. He said, ‘I don’t want her.’

If Omar lied about her married status on her brother’s immigration forms, that would be grounds to strip her of her citizenship and deport her back to Somalia.

President Trump and other America First conservatives like Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt argue that the U.S. has a legal immigration problem where the country hands out citizenship to people like Ilhan Omar, who they argue hate America.

Vice President Vance seemed to confirm for the first time that Omar may be under investigation for immigration fraud.
