President Trump isn’t shy about speaking his mind.

And Trump made one bold prediction that blindsided his supporters.
Concern about AI continues to skyrocket.
Polls show that 81 percent of Americans support regulating AI and 70 percent oppose building data centers in their neighborhood.
But President Trump isn’t fazed by the backlash and continues to champion the AI industry.
Speaking to reporters in Ireland, Trump declared that he didn’t believe any of the new worries about uncontrollable rogue AI ending human life on Earth.
“We’re leading China in AI. We’re the most sophisticated country in the world, and frankly, I want to keep it that way because whoever wins AI wins,” Trump stated.
The prospect of AI bringing about the apocalypse as a real-life version of the events of the “Terminator” film series became very real for many Americans when Anthropic researcher Jason Coxon announced his resignation and revealed that everyone working on AI knew this technology could end human life by 2030.
“The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt,” Coxon wrote on X.
Anthropic CEO Damon Amodei then called for slowing AI development and warned that within six months, AI could become so powerful that it would bring about an economic cataclysm.
“Given the accelerating rate of AI capability development, it’s my worry that in 6–12 months such a swarm could be capable of taking over the entire internet with a persistent botnet (potentially causing hundreds of billions of dollars in damage), and that the scale of damage would continue to increase from there if AI becomes more powerful without the necessary guardrails. It’s also easy to dismiss OAI-HF as the failure of one company, but I believe that would be a mistake. Similar, though less severe, incidents have happened across the industry, including at Anthropic, and I believe it’s incumbent on every frontier AI company to act as if OAI-HF had happened to them,” Amodei wrote.
But President Trump urged Americans to stay the course.
Even though Amodei also warned that AI could eliminate 90% of white-collar jobs, President Trump argued that communities that rejected data centers would end up “ backwards and poor.”
“The only reason that communities throughout the U.S.A. should not want Data Centers is if they want to end up being backwards and poor. If they want to be successful and rich, with far lower taxes and jobs all over the place, let Data Reign. The good news is that there are plenty of other places that want them. If we kill the Golden Goose, you will only have yourselves to blame. China could not be happier with this anti-data center movement. Actually, they can’t believe it is happening!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
