Treachery within the Republican Party is nothing new for President Trump.
Establishment RINOs still think they can get away with scheming to derail the Trump agenda.
And the Trump White House called a RINO backstabber this explosive five-letter name.
RINO North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis is torching every bridge on his way out of Washington.
Tillis was the Democrats’ best friend during Joe Biden’s time in office and Republicans’ worst enemy once Trump won back the White House.
Tillis’s lack of loyalty was on display in his tell-all memoir, a book critics say was his last chance to cash in on his opposition to President Trump.
In How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents, Tillis leaked text messages he sent to President Trump, cutting him out.
After Tillis announced his retirement in 2025 following his vote against the Big Beautiful Bill, Trump ripped Tillis for wanting to spend his time with him “RINO friends, screwing the Republican Party.”
In the last 15 months, Tillis has been ever-present on CNN, attacking Trump’s tariffs, a proposed fund to compensate victims of Joe Biden’s weaponized government, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, among other fights he attempts to pick with Trump.
In the book, Tillis disputed Trump’s assertion that he announced his retirement because Trump threatened him with a primary challenge, claiming he would have told Trump to go “**** yourself” if faced with the possibility of running against a Trump-backed challenger.
As I have said before, you NEVER threatened me with a primary challenge. I get that you may have me confused with so many Republicans that you have threatened in the past, but NEVER me. If you had ever threatened me directly with a primary, I would have immediately told you to **** yourself, and I would have announced my retirement immediately. Save those threats and head games for cowards and fools,” Tillis wrote.
Tillis also outrageously claimed his constant public criticism came from a place of wanting to help Trump succeed.
“I still want to help, but I don’t take this ******* from anyone, including you, Mr. President. Save that **** for the cowards who don’t care if you fail. I care if you fail, and right now we are failing,” Tillis added.
The Trump White House responded to Tillis’ book with a statement calling Tillis a five-letter word for kitten over texting threats to Trump rather than being man enough to say what he had to say to Trump’s face.
“Looks like a ***** move to send a text instead of actually saying it to someone’s face. Shows what kind of character he is,” a White House official stated.
The official record shows Tillis did retire rather than face a Trump-backed primary challenger.
On June 26, 2025, Trump posted on Truth Social that he would be meeting with candidates to primary Tillis after Tillis voted with Democrats to oppose the Big Beautiful Bill.
“Numerous people have come forward wanting to run in the Primary against “Senator Thom” Tillis. I will be meeting with them over the coming weeks, looking for someone who will properly represent the Great People of North Carolina and, so importantly, the United States of America,” Trump posted.
Three days later, Tillis announced he wouldn’t seek another term.
In his statement, Tillis reminded Republicans why they were thrilled to see him go as he complained that Trump and the GOP base punished RINOs for conspiring with Democrats to pass the left’s agenda.
“In Washington over the last few years, it’s become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independent thinking are becoming an endangered species,“ Tillis whined.
Tillis also bragged about voting for Joe Biden’s gun control bill, imposing same-sex marriage on all 50 states, and the Green New Deal.
“Senate to pass the largest investment in mental health in American history, passing the Respect for Marriage Act and monumental infrastructure investments,” Tillis added.
