Trump-backed State Attorney General Ken Paxton thrashed RINO incumbent Senator John Cornyn by nearly 30 points in a primary runoff.
The President endorsed Paxton with a week to go before the runoff.
But the truth of the matter is, polls showed Paxton already led Cornyn by double digits because Texas voters grew tired of Cornyn’s liberalism.
Cornyn declared he was running for another term to ram an amnesty bill for tens of millions of illegal aliens through Congress.
Cornyn also wrote Joe Biden’s gun control bill, which funded red flag confiscation laws at the state level.
And Cornyn also trashed Trump when Trump announced he was running for re-election by claiming Trump was unelectable.
Paxton now faces Democrat James Talarico, who said God is nonbinary and that he “loves” transgender kids.
Talarico hauled in a record $27 million in the first fundraising quarter of 2026 and, in an interview with Senator Cornyn, who is one of the Senate’s most prolific fundraisers, revealed that he wouldn’t lift a finger to help the GOP keep the seat in Republican hands.
“The president picked Paxton, and he’s got 350 million dollars. I think he can spend his money,” Cornyn said of the war chest in Trump’s Super PAC. “I’m going to try to help in other places.”
Cornyn also sniped at Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, who called Cornyn a “sore loser,” by claiming that his comments were “basically continuing to alienate what I would call traditional conservative Republicans like me, and the people who voted for me. Makes no sense whatsoever.”
Then Cornyn went on to attack President Trump as a chaos agent and used as his example Trump appointing Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence, so Pulte could fire dozens of deep state operatives embedded within the intelligence community.
“The president seems to revel in chaos, which is so different from any other leader that I’ve ever seen. I don’t know about you, but I like to minimize the chaos in my life,” Cornyn continued. “He just seems to revel in it. We’ve seen even recent evidence of it on the DNI.”
Finally, Cornyn took a shot at Utah Senator Mike Lee for pressing Senate Majority Leader John Thune to exhaust all options to pass the SAVE Act.
Cornyn whined that Lee believes that “somehow we’re going to beat the opponents into submission.
“Well, I’ve worked here a long time. It doesn’t work that way,” Cornyn added.
Cornyn’s comments are indicative of how the GOP establishment secretly hates Trump but doesn’t feel free to speak out unless it feels it can’t suffer any political consequences.
