MS NOW’s left-wing activists Ken Dilanian and Carol Leonnig published an attack piece claiming top administration officials summoned Patel to the White House for a dressing-down after learning that Patel planned to schedule a trip to Chicago under the cover of FBI business so he could watch his girlfriend perform in a concert.
“FBI Director Kash Patel abruptly cancelled a planned flight Friday to see his girlfriend in Chicago this weekend, after top administration officials frustrated with Patel summoned him to the White House, according to two people with knowledge of the change,” the MS NOW report read.
“The precise reasons that Patel’s political bosses demanded he cancel his trip and report to the West Wing are unclear, but several people said top Trump deputies were disturbed by a range of actions by Patel. Some found it confounding that the FBI director was leaving town amid the recent revival of the war with Iran and alleged threats against the president’s life, according to a person familiar with efforts to help Patel rebuild trust with the White House. For this article, people spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive internal matter,” the report continued.
White Communications Director Steven Cheung debunked the story’s central premise.
“The idea that he was ‘summoned to the White House’ due to ‘frustration’ is totally inaccurate. He was here for unrelated meetings,” a statement from Cheung read.
The FBI slammed the report as a “lie” on social media.

Patel also ripped Dilanian and Leonnig by name on social media with a profane insult.
“Yes, I called MS NOW dumb*****this morning and then later today they post an article only gold-plated dumb***** like Ken and Carol would write,” Patel posted on X.
The fake news media have been trying to get Patel fired for months.
An Atlantic Magazine hit piece smeared Patel as a drunkard following his appearance in the locker room with the U.S. Men’s Hockey Team after they won the Gold Medal at the Winter Olympics.
Patel filed a defamation suit in response.
