Trouble’s been brewing for Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for years.
Now all hell is breaking loose.
And Ilhan Omar’s worst nightmare just occurred when federal agents entered her home.
Ever since Omar first ran for Congress in 2018, accusations that she committed immigration fraud by marrying her brother in a sham ceremony to get him citizenship followed her around.
Both President Trump and Vice President JD Vance told Americans Omar was under criminal investigation.
Americans wondered if this was more talk or if something real was happening.
They got their answer in the most dramatic way possible.
Federal agents executed a predawn raid on Omar’s DC area home, searching for evidence from her immigration proceeding.
“Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child,” Fox News reported.
The Department of Justice confirmed the raid.
“Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,” a DOJ spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Border Czar Tom Homan also told Fox News that this was a long-running investigation where a judge agreed there was probable cause to find evidence of a crime in Omar’s home.
“We know this investigation was ongoing for a while,” Homan told Fox News.
“There was a warrant executed this morning, so I’ll leave it at that,” Homan added.
Homan didn’t want to get ahead of the investigation, so he said he would leave further comment up to Attorney General Todd Blanche and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin.
“The specifics of the investigation, I think I need to turn that over to [Attorney General] Todd Blanche or [DHS Secretary] Markwayne Mullin.”
When Democrats waged lawfare against Donald Trump, the fake news media and the left declared “no one is above the law.”
Now Omar complained about the weaponization of government when she was under scrutiny.
“I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement,” Omar ranted
“For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced,” Omar added.
The Council on American Islamic Relations, long accused of being a front group for Muslim terrorist sympathizers, decried the raid.
“Later today, CAIR-Minnesota and community partners will join a rally in solidarity with Congresswoman Omar, reaffirming the community’s commitment to standing against racism, political intimidation, and attacks on democratic representation,” CAIR-Minnesota Executive Director Jaylani Hussein raged.
But if Ilhan Omar is found guilty of a crime, the government can strip her of her citizenship and deport her back to Somalia.
And in this instance, a federal judge only signed off on the warrant after government lawyers convinced them there was probable cause and evidence existed that Omar committed a crime.
