Sarah Huckabee Sanders had her eyes on a bigger prize.

2026 was supposed to set her up for a national future in Republican politics.

But Sarah Huckabee Sanders sparked a GOP Civil War with one shocking video.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is running for re-election with hopes of scoring a massive win that puts her in contention for a place on a future GOP Presidential ticket.

Sanders wanted to make the bread-and-butter conservative policy of work requirements for welfare a centerpiece of her re-election campaign.

The logic was sound.

Cracking down on welfare fraud puts her squarely in the center of the new Republican Party that President Trump built.

Sanders misfired badly in execution as the ad featured a young white man named Brad, whom the ad depicted as sitting around all day playing video games and scarfing down Cheetos, as he abused the welfare system while Arkansas trudged off to work so they could foot the bill for Brad’s laziness.

“Meet Brad,” the ad shows Sanders saying.

“Brad has turned relaxing into a full-time profession. “But you actually work hard. You pay taxes to cover welfare for guys like Brad who just chose not to work. That’s why I launched a welfare-to-work requirement. Now more Arkansans are working than ever before. Evan Brad,” Sanders exclaimed.

Trump supporters were furious that the ad played into the left’s frame of young white men as society’s villains.

The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh blasted the ad as anti-white racism that stemmed from the fear many establishment Republicans hold of being called racists if they tell the truth about who is scamming welfare in America.

Walsh wrote on X that “This Republican ad calling out welfare leeches uses a young white male named ‘Brad’ as the villain. Meanwhile, back in reality, women are significantly more likely to be on welfare than men.”

“And black people are astronomically more likely to be on welfare than white people. So the number of single young white male “Brads” abusing the welfare system is minuscule,” Walsh added.

“Practically non-existent. But of course Republicans don’t have the balls to do this ad with “Shaniqua” as the villain. Even though that would actually be an accurate portrayal of the problem at hand,” Walsh concluded.

The Federalist’s Sean Davis posted that young white men make up less than 1% of welfare recipients, while Trump won 46 percent of young men between ages 18-29 in 2024, so Sanders was just demonizing her own voters.

“I asked Grok what percentage of welfare and food stamp recipients are white men under the age of 25. The answer? 1%. White men under 25 comprise 1% of welfare recipients. And that’s who Republicans are mocking in their ads as the new welfare queens,” Davis wrote.

Others recoiled at Huckabee Sanders continuing the pile-on on young men and further driving their sons into alienation and despair.

Charlie Kirk made it his mission to turn out young men for the Republican Party.

Trump won the popular vote in 2024 because young men were fed up with Democrats blaming them for all the world’s ills due to their race and gender.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, by running this ad, is ignoring all the lessons of President Trump’s win and his running a campaign straight out of the Mitt Romney/John McCain Republican Party playbook.
