One of the key missions of President Trump’s second term is unwinding the left’s control over American institutions.
The left’s control over key media, business, cultural, and academic power centers means even when Democrats lost elections, the liberal agenda marches on.
And Donald Trump threw down the gauntlet to obliterate the heart of the Democrat machine.
Over the last two decades, Democrats deployed climate change as a Trojan Horse to impose socialist control over American life.
Democrats imposed new taxes and regulations to drive up the cost of energy, food, and travel to force Americans to comply with the Democrats’ preferred vision of how everyone except the elites should live in socialist squalor where the government bans hamburgers, restricts power consumption for air conditioners, and forces everyone to drive electric vehicles that can’t drive as far and cost more than gas-powered cars.
President Trump drove a dagger through the heart of this agenda by calling out the National Academy of Sciences for publishing scientific manuals on climate change that comported with the Green New Deal that judges would then use to decide cases on climate change regulation in the left’s favor.
“The National Academy of Sciences has historically published analytical Scientific Manuals expressly for our Federal Judiciary. Of course, the Academy has been run by Radical Left Democrats who, it turns out, published fraudulent, biased, and misleading Manuals on Climate Change,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump ordered the federal review of these manuals, which should lead to their revocation and the cessation of their use in court cases.
“Judges used these bogus Manuals to decide massive “Climate Change” Cases, and have created huge losses across our Country. These Manuals have been totally DISCREDITED. Our Nation’s Federal Judges deserve Facts and Science, not Political Fraud and False Science on Climate. With this TRUTH, I hereby order Federal Suspension and Debarment Officials to review this conduct. Our Taxpayers should not be funding Climate Fraud, and Judges should never have relied upon it,” Trump added.
Disarming the left’s climate change agenda deprives them of one of their most potent weapons in their campaign to transform America into a socialist nation.
Trump’s broadside against the left’s abuse of climate change came on the heels of Trump calling out Canada for allowing the left’s environmental agenda, leading to massive wildfires that caused smoke to drift over the Midwest and Northeast.
“It went good, but I told him, I mean you gotta stop these fires from coming in and poisoning our air. Our air’s been poisoned,” Trump told reporters. “I have a good relationship with Mark Carney, but you know, we gotta stop the fires up there.”
Trump then floated the idea of imposing tariffs on Canada to make them pay the United States for the loss of economic activity the fires inflicted, since the smoke caused hazardous air conditions in the United States.
“If we can help them, we’ll help them. But maybe they should pay us some damages or something? Or we should do some tariffs?” Trump added.
“But it was terrible. I mean, you had businesses closing — in particular, Michigan. If you look at Detroit, Michigan, they had to close everything. They had to close car plants and a lot of other things,” Trump concluded.
